Apologies.
This is the first time I’ve missed my early Monday morning weekly slot but I’ve been ill. More accurately I’ve been on & off the throne for near on a solid (poor description) 5 days where I haven’t managed too much in the way of work.
Still, on a plus note I’m a bit thinner now.
The Wednesday meeting with the bells, jingle squad creator team, was cancelled as Andy (editor) was unavailable for the usual morning slot & I was, well, splitting bags of malteasers. During this downtime I did manage to push on with the next phase of thumbnails for the final 16 pages. The pencils are up to page 20 as well as the inks. There’s a fair bit of new designs to be…designed before I can push on with the rest of the pencils but I know it’ll all start flowing again very soon.
I did also manage to get SPACEBOY & THE FUTURE KING 2 along its Kickstarter path. Hit that link to get notified when it launches which, as I write this, will be in 5 days time! I’ll be adding to & altering the reward tiers over the coming evenings but it’s all basically ready to go. I can’t deny I’m a little nervous this time around as the first one funded in under 16 hours which blew me away. Like the first one I just want to raise enough to get it printed & for the postage & packaging. I’d like to thank Matt Hardy at Mad Robot Comics for running his eye over the campaign page & giving me some very helpful pointers as well as the mighty Dan Butcher from the ACP for kindly reviewing it.
SPACEBOY & THE FUTURE KING 2 - hit this link to be notified of the launch day.
Saturday shot around quick & turned out to be my first attempt at leaving the house as I had to pop into Truro to collect my new glasses! I’ve had glasses to draw & read with for a few years but this is the first time I’ve needed them for out & about, very exciting.
Whenever I’m in the city, yes, Truro is a city, I like to try & make the most of my time there & that usually means a visit to the comic shop. For a good few years it was Bazbo which was much loved & not forgotten, however, one of the reasons for it being a great shop was the staff & one of those staff members has now opened his own comic shop Archers Comics , while in its early days is well worth a look.
There’s also a great selection of fat comics in the local Waterstones.
I think that’s about it.
Keep your eyes on your socials for updates regarding the new Kickstarter campaign & thank you all so much for your support.
Back to early Monday morning next week.
Rory.
