What a week!
So, where to begin? All in all it’s been a fantastic week in my little comic book life, first off I’ve completed work on chapter 2 of JINGLE SQUAD & I’m very pleased with it all so far, along with the 36 pages there were also some character bio pics as well as our own profile pics, all of which came out well I think.
The next part of the week was spent tidying up the pages for SPACEBOY & THE FUTURE KING 2 plus finishing the thank you page & a page with some character studies of both Merlin & Arthur. No sooner was that done I then got a huge dose of impatience & decided to pull the trigger on sending the files to the printers, it’s a little earlier than planned as the Kickstarter funds don’t arrive in my account until next week but what the hey it’ll be great to get them posted out sooner?
Also at the beginning of the week tickets for the new SUPERMAN film became available for my local cinema which I snatched up immediately. Booking the tickets online is usually a doddle however this time around there appeared to be a slight glitch, now, I’m something of a creature of habit & I have a favourite seat from where I like to watch the movies, a seat I book every time, I know I know that’s sad but what the fuck do I care, I’m one of those dangerous gen Xers who likes going to the movies on his onesies. After a few failed attempts due to said glitch I completed my usual routine & then received an email telling me my transaction hadn’t gone through because that particular seat had been taken & that I hadn’t been charged.
My seat?!
I booked the seat right next to it only to then discover that my seat was now available again! While I pondered why it bothered me I found myself ringing the cinema to ask if my ticket could be changed back to my original seat? Talk about a split personality, I’d been battling with myself for my own seat, which isn’t even mine!
Thankfully the voice on the other end fully understood my analness & obliged with the correction.
It can be a little exhausting being like this!😆
Any hoo before I knew it Friday rolled around & I got to go see SUPERMAN, in MY seat. I’ve gotta say I really enjoyed it, it felt more comic booky than a lot of these comic book related movies. I’ll more than likely go again.
Then, as if my week hadn’t been filled with enough comic goodness my copy of SHIFTS PULP had landed in my post box which is available in WHSMITHS all over the country I believe! I was extra excited about this as they’ve kindly printed GRIFF GRISTLE 1 in it as well as a nice little interview with Rob Jones, Mike Sambrook & yours truly.
With this new week beginning I believe I’ll be getting the nod from Matt & Andy over at Jingle towers to go ahead with the work on chapter 3 of JINGLE SQUAD & the whole process begins again. I’m going to do it the same way again as last time, 10 pages of pencils then double back to ink them then back to pencils on the next 10 & so on. I’m expecting it to feel a bit quicker this time around due to this chapter only being 27 pages.
We’ll see.
Along side this I will be bagging boarding & posting SPACEBOY & THE FUTURE KING 2 out to all you awesome backers as well as completing the work on SPACEBOY & THE FUTURE KING 3: SMELLS LIKE JAM! that will involve colours, cameos & the lettering!
It’s great being busy.
Until next time ya legends.
Rory.
